Recently me n Vince decided to give his room a new coat of paint. So we headed off to the DIY shop and bought a tin of 7 litre Nippon Paint. Upon arriving at the shop we were offered a huge variety of paints with it's own uniqueness fro spotless to odourless. And out of nowhere we saw some paints tucked at a corner with different packaging. Instead of the metal tin with beautiful pictures of houses, these paints come in plastic containers and does not potray any beautiful houses. Only it's logo was printed on the containers together with the code and the name of the colour. For some unknown reasons, such paint do not have a catalogue so we were trying to make out what type of colours are inside the containers. There were several options like bluebells, forget me not etc. Being our first time buying paint for the room we spent some time going through either to go for the higher range fancy paints in nice packaging and thick catalogues to choose from (but costing approx RM130 for 5 litres ) or to go for the plastic container paints and risk getting a colour we would laugh our heads off after removing the lid (but cost us less than RM40 for 7 litres). Haha. Pity the 2 salesperson that were assisting us. Me and Vince was babbling away in Mandarin and they were standing there waiting for our decisions to be made as they were there to assist us should we go for the fancy paints. I almost went for the fancy paints but the miser inside us kept telling us to just go for the affordable type. Hence, we diverted our attention to the RM40 for 7 litre paints. From the names, we tried to figure out the type of colours inside the containers. Eg. Bluebells should be somewhere between blue and purple, forget me not should be a green shade, corn yellow MUST BE yellow and highland sky probably could be some sky blue colour with a hint of green. I opted for the highland sky and told the sales person to bring it to the counter directly so I wouldn't change my mind.
We painted the room for a few days. Did some cleaning. But the end result was good. The colour was nice. As expected sky blue with a hint of green. I did some painting but apparently I seem to have got a F grade for my painting skills thus was given the tasks for cleaning up and to wipe sweat, bring water and also play FB while Vince was painting. Tough job eh. Haha. The room was initially white witha tone of grey below. We did not scrap the old paint so we just cleaned the wall with sponge and water then proceed with the painting works after taping all the window frames and other notto be painted items.

Vince doing some stunt...painting while fan still moving...Haha.

While he was painting I was doing the cleaning. Could not believe my eyes. Some of the areas were so dirty as it was hidden under the bed. Haha. My legs were so black and I had to go on all fours to scrub the floor. But I only scrubbed partially and Vince told me to leave it, he'll use the mop to clean it later. And I proceed to my FB sessions and water feeding and sweat wiping.

Overall, the whole process was tiring but it was fun. There were times where arguements arise and there were sulky moments and harsh comments, but it was not intentionally done so we just pushed it aside. Can't wait for our next DIY project.
